While the Nexus 4 handset has been around for some time now it does seem to be a popular device. We say this as the update to Android 7.1 Nougat has been made available for the handset. Not officially of course, but by way of developers and the CyanogenMod 14 Rom.

Android is an operating system that is well loved for its flexibility and power and it is installed on some of the best devices to have come out. New builds are generally launched regularly, but this is only on newer handsets, typically those that have been out for no longer than two years.

Thanks to developers custom ROMs are offered to older devices, including the Google Nexus 4. The developer has recently revealed CyanogenMod 14 for the Nexus 4 and it gives the older handset Android 7.1 Nougat.

Of course as with the nightly builds you can expect there to be some glitches and issues, but it is one way of getting the new OS on your Nexus 4 and it proves that the Nexus 4 is still a device that is well loved.
