The question on all Android user’s lips is when are we getting the update to 4.1 Jelly Bean? This question has been floating around even since Jelly Bean was launched in June. So just when might your particular phone get the update, if it is to happen at all?
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update list
The answer is quite simple, no one knows. If someone tries to tell you an exact date they are lying or guessing or spreading rumors. At the moment the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S and the Xoom in the US are the only devices to have Jelly Bean, unless you have the Nexus or Xoom with Verizon then you are out of luck too.
HTC has told ComputerWorld that owners of the One XL and One S will get the update and the Transformer Pad, Prime and Pad Infinity should also be updated. However at the moment no one knows exactly when these devices will get the update, nor if any other devices are likely to follow.
There has not been any word about the update from LG, Samsung, Sony or Motorola, or indeed any other manufacturer of Android phones. There have been rumors that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will get the update, along with the Galaxy Note, but these are just rumors at the moment.
Android updates, apart from Google’s own devices are really down to the hands of the manufacturers and as these are not known to rush into handing out updates you could be in for a long wait.
