Alfa Romeo Giulia QV Starts A Fight With The Porsche Panamera Turbo

By  |

Alfa Romeo has taken a long time to launch the next generation of the Alfa Romeo Giulia QV. However now it has arrived and we get to see just how good the vehicle is.

Around a month back Alfa Romeo revealed the power that is coming with the Alfa Romeo Giulia QV. We have seen the vehicle going around the Nurburgring and it managed a lap of 7 minutes 39 seconds. This means that the vehicle is now the fastest production sedan to come out.

Just one week later Porsche decided that they were going to do something about this and they put the Porsche Panamera on the track to find out just how fast it was. The vehicle completed the track in 7 minutes and 38 seconds, thanks to the 550 horses.

What is strange is the fact that Alfa Romeo couldn’t accept that the Porsche Panamera turbo was the faster of the two vehicles, even though they are both in different segments.

They sent the Alfa Romeo Giulia QV back to the track and it managed an unofficial time of 7 minutes and 38 seconds. However what was interesting out of this is the fact that no changed had been made to the engine. What they did was to swap the 6 speed gearing for the FCA ZF 8 speed automatic transmission and it seems that this made the difference.
