[ALERT] Sony Xperia Z5 Marshmallow Update Goes Camera Funny

By  |

People have been reporting that following the update to Marshmallow on the Sony Xperia Z5 the camera has been acting strangely.

A user on Reddit said that apps such as manual camera and camera FV-5 crashed when trying to make adjustments when on Lollipop. Manual controls came in useful as the camera app isn’t very good at night. This is down to it having ISO levels that are high, which leaves the corners of photos purple.

In the manual camera app the features include changing ISO between 50 and 3200 and the exposure from 1/8000 to 1/10. Manual focus can be changed as can exposure.

The limitations when making adjustments to the white balance cause the app to crash, other limitations include 8MP for resolution 16:9, despite the camera having 20MP and support for RAW format.

The user said that one of the worst parts was that when using night mode with the normal camera app the exposure was possible up to ½ second.

While there has been some progress on the Sony Xperia Z5 following the Marshmallow update, things could be better.
