Fans of the Volkswagen Golf have been eager to learn more about the upcoming vehicles and now, we finally have some new details about the vehicle.

According to Auto Express, the 2020 Volkswagen Golf will be making its official debut next year at the Frankfurt Motor Show. They also added that the Golf will be getting a plug-in hybrid, GTi, and Golf R model.

The report also added that the GTI and Golf R model will be getting a huge performance upgrade. It is believed that the 2020 GTI could be offering about 250hp while the Golf R could be offering about 350hp.

With those upgrades, the GTI could go up against models like the Ford Focus ST while the Golf R could compete with models like the Ford Focus RS.

One model that was not mentioned in the report was the Volkswagen e-Golf model. Auto Express speculated that the vehicle might not be a part of next-gen models.
