BMW will be bringing in a new BMW M3 in 2019 as a 2020 model and while we know that is happening, we don’t really know what BMW plans to offer on the next-gen BMW M3 but we do have some information about the engine.
Car Magazine reported that the 2020 BMW M3 will be coming in with a 3.0-liter twin turbo engine also known as the S58B30. It is believed that the engine will be able to offer about 493hp and 442lb ft of torque when it arrives.
Despite offering more power, the BMW M3 should be more fuel efficient than the current model as it is believed that the vehicle will be adopting a 48-volt mild hybrid system. We are also expecting the engine to be mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
We won’t be seeing the next-gen model anytime soon but it is nice to know that this will be coming our way in the future.
