Last year, Volvo’s performance arm Polestar did the unthinkable when it fine-tuned the S60 which then led to the car becoming the fastest 4-door sedan to ever race on the Nurburgring. While the record is no longer with the S60, its past achievement gave us a hint on what Polestar is capable of.
Today, Volvo is more pumped up than ever to produce more performance tuned vehicles through Polestar and they have confirmed on the development of the XC60 Polestar. The performance SUV is projected to arrive next year and it promises a performance like no other.
But then again, a new announcement from Volvo confirms that Polestar’s primary focus is going to be developing EV/hybrid performance cars. If this is to mean anything, the XC60 Polestar may just end up running on a high-powered hybrid setup unlike any other.
We simply can’t predict how the XC60 Polestar will perform when released, especially after knowing that Polestar will mainly focus to compete with electrified vehicles. We should be getting a better idea about it in the coming months.
