We know that Volvo is working on a new Volvo XC40 model and while the wait is far from over, spies have already spotted the vehicle out in the open a few times now.

The latest spy shots were taken in Spain and while Volvo did try their best to cover up the vehicle, nobody was fooled. However, their stickers and covers did a good job at keeping the overall XC40 design a secret.

We know that the Volvo XC40 will come riding on a CMA platform, the same platform used by the other 40-series models like the V40, S40 and more. We know that the XC40 will be getting a new design based on the XC90 which means features like the T-shaped headlight would most likely make its way over as well.

Powering the Volvo XC40 should be a 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine although we are also expecting to see the standard four-cylinder petrol and diesel engine make a comeback as well.

The XC40 will be coming in to compete with the BMW X1, Audi Q3 and more
