The Range Rover Velar was spotted last year and while Land Rover has not mentioned anything about its release date, some people think that we might be close to seeing its debut as the production-ready vehicle was spotted getting tested out in the open.

At this point, Land Rover has not revealed much about the Velar SVR but it is believed that the vehicle would be coming in with the same engine that the Sport SVR is currently running on. The 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine will produce about 542hp and 502lb ft of torque which is 25hp less but that should not matter if you take into consideration the weight loss.

It was added that the Range Rover Velar SVR should be 300 pounds lighter when compared with its brother so the slight drop in horsepower will probably not make any differences. We can also expect to see some other upgrades like new suspension setting, upgraded eight-speed transmission, larger brakes, lighter wheels and more. We still do not know when the vehicle will be making its debut but it should go on sale before 2018 ends.
