Who wouldn’t want to see the 2019 Mazda RX-9 make its way out onto the streets after all it looks superb. However, the CEO of the company has once again broken hearts by saying that we shouldn’t expect it. Of course you shouldn’t lose all hope as we have heard this before and then they started talking about it all over again, so this shouldn’t be the last we hear about it.
The chief executive has said that Mazda don’t have any plans to launch a sports vehicle that is bigger than the MX-5 Miata and this means that we are not going to get to see the 2019 Mazda RX-9.
He was asked if an RX-8 successor was coming our way but he said that the MX-5 1.5 litre or perhaps the 2 ltire conventional engine could offer up an experience that is more exhilarating.
So it doesn’t look as though the Mazda RX-9 with the rotary engine is going to be heading our way. Of course this isn’t to say that the engine is going to be killed off either. It was said that if a new and more efficient rotary engine was made then it would be used as a range extender instead of using it as the main source to power a car.
