GM surprise everybody this year when they decided to only show off the Chevrolet Silverado at the Detroit Auto Show this year. In the past, the GMC Sierra would always accompany the Chevrolet Silverado but it looks like GM wants people to see them both as different models.

According to GM, they are hoping to create a little more space in between the two models. Showcasing the vehicles at different events would definitely help with that but GM plans to do more than that.

GM also announced that they will be working to give the Sierra a different exterior design which means the 2019 Sierra won’t just be a chrome version of the Silverado. Based on what we know so far, the engine and tech will most likely be the same on both models.

Spy shots of the interior also reveal that the vehicles would probably share a similar interior design.
