BMW may be about to enter into production of electric vehicles of the BMW 3-Series along with the MINI and BMW X4. At the moment we don’t have anything official but it is thought that the car maker is going to approve this towards the end of the month.

An electric version of the BMW 3-Series would be interesting out of the three and this is due to the fact that the BMW i3 is in need of some help and it would be retaliation against the Tesla Model 3.

The sales of it in July and August were impressive and it is safe to say that the all-electric version of the BMW i3 haven’t been doing very well. Total sales fell through the end of August by 13% against the same period in 2015.

An inferior range could well have been one of the main drawbacks along with the case earlier on in the year that was a blow involving the range extender, which brought about some safety issues.

Of course the looks of the vehicle didn’t help either as some say that the styling is gaudy and it takes away from the sharp driving dynamics. The entry level of the BMW i3 has a price tag of $42,400 and this hasn’t helped it either.

The BMW 3-Series has been the leader for sales for BMW and so it does make a lot of sense for the car maker to offer an all-electric version of the sedan hat would help out the BMW i3.
