The Toyota Tacoma is one of the most popular vehicles in the mid-sized pick-up market in the US and it hasn’t lost out to the 2nd gen Honda Ridgeline. However it may be worried about the Ford Ranger.

The 2018 Toyota Tacoma also has to go up against the Nissan Frontier, which has improved sales, however the Tacoma remains unshaken and it has also remained at the top.

The Tacoma sales did fall by 43% in August last year and thanks to there not being enough supplies of it this year, it could get into real trouble. Before the launch of it when it enjoyed a revamp in 2016 the Toyota Tacoma was in ample supply, however as it became popular fast, supplies have been limited.

Toyota is boosting production at the Mexico plant by 60% but the increase in production isn’t going to be seen until late in 2017 at the very earliest. This means supplies of the 2018 Toyota Tacoma are going to be somewhat scarce for most of the year.

The 2018 Ford Ranger is just around the corner and this is going to be one of the biggest rivals to the 2018 Toyota Tacoma. Let’s hope that the availability of the Tacoma doesn’t see it lose out to the Ranger.

I see the next Frontier challenging Toyota sales
as well as the ranger if Ford plays it’s cards correctly.
The GM twins are not up to snuff and as long as GM uses Isuzu designs they will continue to lag.
