2018 Toyota Camry: What Happened To Ugly?
The Toyota Camry has always been known as the ugly car in the past but with the 2018 Toyota Camry this is about to change. This is the 8th gen vehicle and it is coming with a new platform and a redesign.
Toyota said that the 2018 Toyota Camry will have a lower centre of gravity and this is going to make the vehicle more aerodynamic and it should offer up better fuel efficiency. The vehicle will also offer a two inch longer wheelbase, while the dashboard height, hood and cowl are all lowered, which gives better visibility.
The 2018 Toyota Camry is going to offer up the V6 3.5 litre and 2.5 litre four cylinder engines and these will have the eight speed auto transmission. We are also expecting to see a four cylinder hybrid come our way, with CVT.
There are four trims on offer, the LE, XLE, SE and the XSE and the sporty variations will have 19 inch wheels along with unique body modifications and this will set them apart from the LE and the more upscale XLE trims. The front seating on the 2018 Toyota Camry has been redesigned and the cabin now offers up soft to the touch materials and it is more comfortable. The seating in the rear offers more room too. There is a 10 inch colour head up display along with 7 inch screen and an 8 inch display for navigation, audio and climate control.
Safety wise the 2018 Toyota Camry is going to offer forward-collision warning with auto brakes and pedestrian detection along with adaptive cruise control. On some models blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert is added in and all versions offer a backup camera.
We are expecting the 2018 Toyota Camry to go on sale during the summer of this year but we don’t have a price tag.
