2018 Subaru WRX STi Says Goodbye To 2.5 Litre Turbo Boxer

By  |

The 2018 Subaru WRX STi is going to be saying goodbye to the 2.5 litre boxer engine and in comes the smaller 2 litre which is going to offer up 325 horses and 295 of torque.

We have also been given hints about a hybrid variation of the Subaru Impreza WRX STi but we don’t think that this is going to arrive anytime in the near future. The hybrid system may be for a new model and it isn’t going to be focused on performance and so may degrade the capabilities of the vehicle somewhat.

The hybrid system could help with the fuel economy of the 2018 Subaru WRX STi, along with the emissions, however it is thought that this may not justify the hike in price.

The latest version of the Subaru WRX STi is going to have some revamps over the traditional styling and we are expecting to see a hood scoop to feed the intercooler along with a new dual exhaust, new wheel pattern and some modifications.

When it comes to the cabin we are expecting to see some sporty features, however don’t get expecting to see too many changes.
