If you are waiting for the 2018 Mazda CX-4 to arrive in the US, which has been made available in China, then you are going to have a wait on your hands. At the moment the vehicle is only for China, it’s not even in Japan, which is the home market of Mazda. However there is good news as the Program Managed of Mazda said that the vehicle wasn’t intentionally made only for the Chinese market.
He went on to say that they were looking into the possibility of launching the Mazda CX-4 in other markets. He said that considerations were being made for the vehicle to be configured for Asia and Europe, among others. While a date wasn’t given it is possible that we could see it make its way into the US by 2018.
The reason the Mazda CX-4 is only in China at the moment is due to the fact of resource limitations at Mazda. This led to it being produced at the factory in China. Another factor is that changes would be needed to ensure that the vehicle met the regulations when it comes to safety, along with the preferences of consumers in regional markets.
So it may be possible that we could see the arrival of the Mazda CX-4 on the market in the US by 2018 or perhaps the following year, but it is looking good.
