We already knew that Mazda wanted their vehicles to be seen as a more upmarket model and they have been inching their way closer to that goal with every new upgrade.

The 2018 Mazda 6 will be given a mild upgrade that includes an upgraded front grille, and a cleaner fascia to match what the Mazda CX-5 is offering. The interior has been upgraded as well. Under the hood of the Mazda 6 is a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that will be offering about 250hp and 310lb ft of torque.

The engine will be mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Some people were hoping that Mazda would add a manual transmission in the future but we will have to wait and see if that happens for the Mazda 6 as well. Of course, the 2.5 liters naturally aspirated four-cylinder model will still come with both auto and manual options.

The price is still a mystery but we should learn more about it when the vehicle arrives next year.
