2018 Jeep Wrangler: Watch Out For RAM 1500 Instead
FCA is enjoying good sales with the Jeep brand at the moment and these have been covering up for the Fiat, Chrysler and Dodge poor performance. As they are in the winning mood FCA is going to go all in with Jeep.
They are going to invest $1.05billion so that they can refurbish the Toledo plant in Ohio for Jeep and the Jeep Wrangler, while they plan on relocating the Cherokee to Belvidere.
There are some people who believe that FCA may be making a big mistake by throwing money at Jeep as they are gambling on the fact that gas prices are going to remain low.
The Jeep Wrangler is going to welcome improvements to fuel economy, however efficiency isn’t a particular strong suit of off the road vehicles, even though many people who purchase the Wrangler don’t go off road.
The FCA made another big announcement recently that surprised people as they said that they were going to put $1.48 billion into revamping the Michigan Sterling Heights plant for building the next generation of the RAM 1500. This is a vehicle that is going to be moving away from the unibody build to the body-on-frame build.
Just as with the Cherokee, the Chrysler 200 is going thanks to the retooling of the plant in Detroit, however the sedan isn’t going to be relocated, we will be seeing the last of it.
