There hasn’t been any confirmation given but it is thought that when the 2018 Jeep Wrangler comes our way it may arrive with a price tag that is substantially higher than the version out now. This isn’t just going to be a small price hike we are talking about either.
There is no doubt that most people would expect the 2018 Jeep Wrangler price tag to be higher than the 2017 version. This is due to the fact that the vehicle is made from aluminium and so the production costs will be higher. The cost of aluminium isn’t cheap even when you bear in mind that the vehicle may benefit from economies of scale as there is going to be a huge increase in production.
The Jeep Wrangler production is in fact more delicate as it is built using aluminium instead of steel and so we expect the price tag is going to be between $1,000 and $3,000 . Things may be different however outside of the US.
This is due to the fact that while in the US the price tag rise may only seem to be a small pinch, overseas it could appear to be a big slap in the face. This is thanks to the Jeep Wrangler costing around four times the equivalent in China and India. These countries would be the perfect regions for the Wrangler of course as they are rugged.
Jeep may take on some of the additional costs due to them using aluminium of high grade. So they may find it very difficult to obtain buyers outside of the US as they may go for the Jeep Renegade, which isn’t made from aluminium.
