While there isn’t any confirmation right now we have reason to believe that the price tag of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler may be substantially higher than the version that came out previously.
When the 2017 version came out it came with a price hike that was only marginal, however with the 2018 Jeep Wrangler it is expected that the costs will rise a lot more. Production costs will come in higher and aluminium isn’t cheap to buy, we understand this even when the vehicle should be able to benefit thanks to an increase in the production.
The Jeep Wrangler is more delicate to make thanks to it being made from aluminium and so the hike in price should be between $1,000 to $3,000. This could mean that the Wrangler may get into trouble overseas.
In the US the price change may feel only a pinch, but for those abroad it would feel like a huge thump. Bear in mind that the Jeep Wrangler costs four times the equivalent in India and China than it does in the US and these are markets that are perfect for the vehicle due to the rugged terrain.
Jeep could stomach some costs that are associated with making the Jeep Wrangler in aluminium and if they don’t do this finding buyers abroad could prove to be difficult and it may see people moving to the Jeep Renegade instead.
