The Ford Mustang and the Jeep Wrangler are two very different vehicles; however both share two things that are very similar that can perhaps predict how successful the Wrangler is going to be in the international market. Both of the vehicles are American vehicles that are well-known around the globe.
They are both pure American through and through in that neither of them has a big presence outside of North America. However thanks to pop culture both of them are familiar to people outside of the US, even though they haven’t had access to either vehicle.
Things have changed though as the Ford Mustang isn’t an exclusive to the US anymore as Ford launched the vehicle in right hand drive and sent it out to 80 countries during 2014.
This has meant that the Ford Mustang has been able to enjoy success overseas and it did become the best-seller in the sports coupe category around the world in 2015.
The Jeep Wrangler also gets as much recognition internationally as the Ford Mustang, however thanks to there being restraints with supplied it hasn’t been as successful. Around 80% of the vehicles sold last year were sold to people in the US, with another 10% being sold in Mexico and Canada.
Production changes are in place that means that the next generation of the Jeep Wrangler is going to double and this could mean that the vehicle could rival the success of the Ford Mustang internationally.
In India the Jeep Wrangler costs the equivalent of more than $105,000 and as you might imagine sales are not easily made. However in other regions the off the roader is more costly than the Ford Mustang.
There are many fans just waiting to be able to get their hands on the Jeep Wrangler, more so those who like to customize vehicles. Other off the roaders, such as the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux are very popular internationally. This may mean that the Wrangler would be just as popular too.
