2018 Jeep Wrangler: Is It Like Ford Mustang?
One of the most iconic vehicles of Jeep also happens to be the one that hasn’t been the best-seller. There is a lineup of 6 models and the Jeep Wrangler comes in third, his is down to the fact that there is just one production plant for it in the US.
The first priority for the Jeep Wrangler is the US market and this is the reason why only 20% of the 250,000 units that were sold to buyers that is outside of the US.
In contrast there is the Jeep Renegade and this is produced in three different regions, but not in the US. This means that 62% of the total sales came from customers outside of the US last year.
This is about to change though as the FCA has chosen the Jeep Wrangler to represent the brand name and as such the vehicle is going to be given a boost that is massive.
It means that there isn’t going to be a dilemma about limited supplies being marked for markets outside the US, an investment of $700 million along with big changes is going to mean that production capacity is going to come in at around 450,000 units.
This is like the Ford Mustang, when it was introduced to the international market it took it by storm during the first year and the Jeep Wrangler is set to do the same. One example of this is the Ford Mustang in Australia, it managed to sell out within the first month of it arriving.
We should not expect much of a delay for the sales to skyrocket in countries where the presence of the Jeep Wrangler is still sparse, including Asia, Europe and Middle East.
