The Jeep Wrangler and Ford Mustang don’t have a great deal in common as they are very different. But they do both share two things and this may give us an indication of how successful the Wrangler might be in the international market. Both of the vehicles are truly American and both are well-known around the world.
Both the Jeep Wrangler and the Ford Mustang haven’t really enjoyed much success outside of the US, but this hasn’t stopped them being familiar outside of the US. Things changed though as the Mustang was offered in RHD to 80 countries outside the US.
Plenty of people snapped up the Ford Mustang overseas and it has gone on to become one of the best-selling coupes in 2015 around the globe. The Jeep Wrangler also gets as much recognition outside the US, but thanks to their being some restraints on supplies, it hasn’t enjoyed as much success. 80% of the units sold last year were to consumers in the US and 10% were sold to Canadians and Mexicans.
Changes in production were then put into place and this means that the next generation Jeep Wrangler production is going to almost double. This may mean that the vehicle might rival the Ford Mustang success on the international market.
The Jeep Wrangler in India costs $105,000 equivalent and so there are not many consumers. In other regions, it ends up arriving with a price tag that is more than that of the Ford Mustang.
Many people overseas cannot wait to get their hands on the Jeep Wrangler, particularly those who are into customization. The Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger have both been popular on the international market, so perhaps the Wrangler could enjoy success too.
