2018 Jeep Wrangler: Be Wary Of RAM 1500 Instead

By  |

Everything seems to be going right for FCA at the moment thanks to the strong slaes of the Jeep brand. These sales are helping to cover up the commercial performance of Dodge, Chrysler and Fiat, which are limp. Now FCA is going all in with Jeep.

They are planning on investing around $1.05 billion in a refreshment of the Toledo plant in Ohio for the production of the next generation of the Jeep Wrangler. They are also going to be relocating the Cherokee and this will be moving to Belvidere in Ilinois.

There are some people who think that Jeep are throwing too much money away and the FCA is gambling far too much on gas price keeping down.

We do know that there is going to be improvements to the fuel economy on the Jeep Wrangler when it arrives, however this doesn’t take away from the fact that fuel efficiency isn’t generally the strongest feature of 4×4 vehicles.

The FCA are taking another huge risk as they are going to put $1.4 billion into revamping the Michigan Sterling Heights assembly plant to make the next generation RAM 1500. This is going to be making the move away from uni-body to body on frame.

Just as with the Jeep Cherokee the Chrysler 200 is going to be kicked out due to the retooling at the Detroit plant and the sedan isn’t going anywhere else, it is going to be going for good.
