The Jeep Compass that is going to be the 2018 model has been reflected well on the Jeep Grand Cherokee. This is due to the fact that the design of the flagship SUV has worked well on the smaller vehicle. However it may not be the flagship model for much longer.
The FCA does have some big plans over the next few years and this is going to take them to the end of the decade. One of plans is for the reintroduction of two of the classic names that will end up taking Jeep back into the premium market.
The Jeep Wagoneer and the Grand Wagoneer will be coming back as 2018 and 2019 versions and you may know that these both helped to define the upmarket values of Jeep some decades back.
They are going to be taking the place of the Grand Cherokee and will become the flagship vehicles of Jeep. The current SUV flagship is said to be premium when you go for the top trim Summit and SRT versions, but the Wagoneers are going to be able to challenge the Range Rover models from JLR.
So it means that the Jeep Grand Cherokee is going to be taken off the top of the pecking order at Jeep thanks to it going off in a new direction with the arrival of the Jeep Hellcat Trackhawk variation.
