2018 Jeep Compass Has Plans That Are Similar To Jeep Renegade
The 2018 Jeep Compass is going to be arriving on the market and when it does it will be a mix of the Jeep Cherokee and the Jeep Grand Cherokee for its looks, both on the inside and the outside. However it is very much along the lines of the Jeep Renegade, which is smaller, as it shares the Small Wide 4×4 architecture.
What this tells us is that anyone who buys the new Jeep Compass will be able to make use of the versatility of its platform mate. The Jeep Renegade has been given praise as it is a vehicle that is able to tackle harsh terrains along with being able to offer comfort that is impressive when out on the highways and around the city.
This isn’t the end of the similarity between the Jeep Compass and the subcompact brother. Both versions are going to be focused on buyers in the US under the C and B segments.
Just as with the Jeep Renegade, the Jeep Compass isn’t going to be sourced from the US, but then of course this is something that is typical of vehicles from Jeep. The production is going to take place in Brazil initially and then it will be made in Mexico and China for the US version.
The Jeep Compass is thought to be coming to the US with the 2.4 litre Tigershark four cylinder engine that was used on the Jeep Renegade and which offers 180 horses along with 184 of torque. It has been said that the second engine on offer will be the 2 litre turbocharged four cylinder and this would offer up 300 horsepower and this is the one that will be used in the next generation of the Jeep Wrangler.
