The 2018 Jeep Cherokee is going to find itself stuck in a position it really doesn’t want to be in when the Jeep Compass and Patriot replacement arrives later on next year. The vehicle is built around the Renegade platform and it will be gunning for position as being the smaller Grand Cherokee sibling.

At the moment the vehicle is being called the Compatriot and we think that when it arrives it will take on the Compass branding. We believe this due to the fact that the Patriot isn’t a firm favorite internationally.

The 2018 Jeep Compass is going to come between the Jeep Cherokee and the Renegade and it’s a similar size to the Grand Cherokee. This means that it would be in a position that isn’t favorable, sitting between the Compass and the premium sibling.

From what we have seen by way of the camouflaged version of the Compass it does look as though it is going to take on the look of the Grand Cherokee and we are hoping that it will offer up the versatility of the Renegade both off the road and on. This may mean that the Jeep Cherokee is going to have a struggle on its hands to keep up.

The arrival of the Jeep Compass could therefore bring about some huge changes for the Jeep Cherokee when it arrives in 2018. Unless of course it gets a big overhaul when it arrives as the next generation vehicle in 2019.
