2018 Jaguar F-Pace May Bypass V8 550 Horse Engine

One of the most exciting things to come from JLR is that they are committed to boosting the Special Vehicle Operations division. This holds both hardcore off the road along with high performance variants of their vehicles with the SVAutography models.

Now the carmaker seems to be focusing on making SVR vehicles for the lineup and at the moment there are just two nameplates that wear the badge. These are the Jaguar F-Type and the Range Rover Sport.

Coming in the lineup is the 2018 Jaguar F-Pace SVR but this may end up going in a totally new direction than the models that offer high output at the moment. While there are some people who might not agree with this, we think that they may be doing it for the better.

We saw a video of the prototype of the Jaguar F-Pace SVR when it was on the Nurburgring and it might not come with the V8 5 litre engine from the two other SVR models that offer up 550 horses along with 516 torque.

The engine in the test version of the Jaguar F-Pace SVR does offer up a growl that is decent, however it didn’t sound to be as potent as the engine that V8 SVR fans love. JLR may be dampening down the sound of the performance crossover just so that spies will be thrown off or it could be a different engine.
