2018 Honda Odyssey: CR-V Running Out Of Time

By  |

The Honda CR-V might want to enjoy their time on the top right now because they might get kicked out of the top spot soon.

Based on how far Honda is willing to go for their Honda Odyssey, we could see why some people think that the upcoming SUV could be the next top selling SUV from Honda. The 2018 Honda Odyssey will be coming in with a new design but that is not the only thing that Honda plans to offer.

It was reported that Honda invested close to $149million just so that they can make the Honda Odyssey work. The huge chunk of that money will go into upgrading the Tallapoosa Georgia plant, the plant where the Honda Odyssey will be produced.

Honda will also use part of that investment to invest in the transmission manufacturing plant in Ohio. Thanks to the upgrade, the Honda Odyssey will be able to come in with the new 10-speed auto transmission.

With all the upgrades, we won’t be surprised if the Honda Odyssey ends up beating the Honda CR-V.

The current Honda Odyssey comes powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that will be offering about 248hp. The engine will allow the Odyssey to return about 19mpg in the city and 28mpg on the highway. The Odyssey can go from 0-60mph in 7.7seconds and has a top speed of 120mph.
