The 2018 Honda Accord is getting set to take on the 1.5 litre turbo four cylinder engine of the Honda Civic. So does this mean that the V6 3.5 litre is going to be given the boot?
There is less power on the turbocharged, however by losing out on two cylinders it would mean that the vehicle has smaller displacement and it would be more nimble as it would have to rely on forced induction, which should give the Honda Accord better mileage.
However the V6 engine would come in very useful in helping the best-selling vehicle of Honda to keep its identity and distinguish it from the smaller brother. More so since we have heard that the Honda Accord is going to take on a design that is sportier, similar to the tenth generation Honda Civic.
The Toyota Camry is facing a crossroad too as this vehicle is also getting a brand new 2 litre turbocharged four cylinder engine for 2018. This may mean that Toyota would lose the V6 3.5 litre engine and make the vehicle sportier along with being more agile, using the platform that is shared with the Toyota Prius.
