They say better late than never and this applies to the 2018 Honda Accord as it finally about to join the Honda CR-V and Civic party.
Now all three vehicles, the 2018 Honda Accord, Honda Civic and Honda CR-V all have the same platform and all of them are going to share the 1.5 litre turbocharged engine. The Accord is going to be late though to the party as it isn’t going to arrive until next year.
When the Honda Accord does arrive it may mean the end of the V6 3.5 litre non-turbo engine. Honda seems to have commitment to the 4 cylinder turbocharged, but they could still offer up the V6 engine in the Accord, Ridgeline and Pilot. The V6 engine of the coupe is very hard to beat due to the fact that it gives the vehicle road performance that is superb along with comfort and active safety.
The turbocharged 4 cylinder engine is good though despite the fact that many of the direct turbocharged with 4 cylinders can be noisy when they are starting up. The V6 engine has a smoother sound.
So perhaps with the Honda Accord and its turbocharged engine they will also offer the V6 for those who prefer the sound and drive it offers.
