While the 2018 Honda Accord has been late it is making an appearance at the Honda Civic and Honda CR-V party.
We say this as the Honda Civic along with the CR-V and Honda Accord are all going to have the same platform and they will all share the same 1.5 litre turbocharged engine. However the Accord is making a late appearance as it isn’t going to arrive until next year.
This means that it could be the death of the non-turbocharged V6 3.5 litre engine. It does look as though Honda are committed to the 4 cylinder turbocharged engine but many people believe that they will still offer the V6 option in the Pilot, Ridgeline and Honda Accord. The V6 powered Honda Accord coupe is hard to beat as it offers up superb road performance along with exceptional active safety and comfort.
Turbocharged 4 cylinder gas engines are cool though, but then many of the direct turbocharged engines with 4 cylinders are noisy when starting up and they don’t sound as smooth or cool as the V6 engine.
So maybe along with offering the Honda Accord with the turbocharged engine next year they may also keep the V6 in production for those who like the sound of the engine.
