Fans of Ford are getting extremely excited for the arrival of the next generation of the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. More so as the vehicle is going to offer up performance that is better than before thanks to the new 10 speed automatic gearing. The big question on the lips of fans is what engine Ford is going to use with the new transmission.
If you take a look at the pattern of release from Ford you can see that they would like the EcoBoost engine to be the primary one. The Ford Mustang GT350 offers the 2.3 litre EcoBoost and this gives out more power than the V6 engine. What is weird about this is that the V6 engine happens to be the exact same one that was used on the previous generation and the power figures dipped.
Ford may want to make the naturally aspirated engine look far less exciting compared with the turbocharged EcoBoost engine. If that pattern is to follow in the upcoming years then we are not going to be surprised to see the next GT500 offer the EcoBoost that is more powerful than the V8 engine.
The V8 engine could be tuned down to offer a power figure that is smaller and then the EcoBoost would be made to look like the hero. But is this something that is going to happen?
