2018 Ford Mustang Isn’t Caught Out By Riddles
The 2018 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 and GT350R have been confirmed it seems if a document that was received by an owner on the Mustang forum can be believed. The form came with the title of “2018MY Shelby GT350 Program Enrollment,” and it seems that it was meant to be sent to Ford dealers.
The document gives details about the changes to the upcoming GT350s and the date when they should be completed. It is looking like there isn’t going to be any big changed apart from the new exterior paintjobs.
This does away with the claim that the new model would have the dual-clutch transmission when it arrived. What the document didn’t state was when the 2018 versions of the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 would be launched. However it does give dealers an idea about the enrollment time as it comes to a close on 27 February 2017. So it may be that the reveal will be in April at the 2017 New York Auto Show.
Based on the forum member we now know that the entry level versions are going to look more like the Shelbys at the top end of the range. However, should the styling be different then it might mean that the 2018MY is going to be the last for the two models.
The carmaker is also going to add a 10 speed automatic to the Ford Mustang but the transmission isn’t going to pair nicely with the GT350, as the latter is manual only. The GT500 should offer up more than 700 horses and it may have the 10 speed automatic gearing.
