2018 Ford Mustang GT500 To Get EcoBoost, 5 Litre V8 and More

We have been hearing about leaks, seen spy shots and there are rumors going around that Ford may have the next generation of the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 under their belt. The vehicle is thought to be getting an introduction later on this year and we expect to see it get released in 2017.

When the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 does make its way out it is thought that it will come with two different powertrains. The first of these is going to be the 5 litre V8 engine that offers 600 horses, while the other will be the EcoBoost twin-turbocharged engine V6 that offers up 620 horses.

The power figures may not sound all that good when you compare them to the last version of the GT500, however if Ford wishes to turn the EcoBoost into the new standard for the Mustangs, then it is something that is needed.

At the moment Ford is keeping quiet about the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, so there might be some changes come our way for the engines. What we do know for sure is that the vehicle is going to offer the new 10 speed automatic gearing.
