2018 Ford Mustang GT500: Is The EcoBoost Going To Undermine The V8 Engine

By  |

It isn’t any big surprise that we are going to see the next generation Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 and it is thought that it is going to arrive at some point next year. When the vehicle arrives it will come with plenty of power along with offering up lots of new technology and a driving experience that is enhanced.

We cannot wait to see what the Ford Mustang GT500 is going to look like and whether it is going to offer up the V8 engine. Reports have suggested that the vehicle is going to come with the V8 5 litre Voodoo engine and the V6 twin turbocharged EcoBoost engine.

This got us wondering if the V8 engine is going to be tuned down as if so this would make the V6 bi-turbo engine look to be the hero. It could be like the Mustang GT350, which had the V6 engine turned down so as to make the 2.3 litre EcoBoost engine look good.

This is only a prediction of course for the Ford Mustang GT500. But then if it turns out to be the real deal we wouldn’t be all that surprised as Ford want to ensure that the EcoBoost engine looks great, even if it means making the older engine look obsolete.
