There are some fans of the Ford Mustang that haven’t been happy at all with the 6th generation from two years ago and the fact that it looked more like a sports coupe than it did a US pony car. Now Blue Oval has decided to do something about this.
The facelift of the Ford Mustang for 2018 has been seen in testing but we cannot take much from it as Ford made sure that it remained hidden away from view.
From what we could see of the 2018 Ford Mustang it seems that the inner headlight pattern will be different, however the shape of it isn’t going to be changed. We also managed to get a glimpse of a new front splitter, this was seen through the wrapping on the front fascia.
It doesn’t look much like the Ford Mustang GT350 or any other version, however the Brembo brakes does seem to suggest that it could be the GT with the V8 powered engine. If reports can be believed then the 2018 Ford Mustang GT might be able to offer up a lot more than its 435 horses.
At the moment it is too early to tell whether this is going to be the case. Owners of the Mustang on the market at the moment might be able to get additional power thanks to optional Power Packs and some of the goodies offered in the GT350.
What might be more interesting is how the stallion performs if it has the ten speed automatic transmission that Ford made alongside GM.
In the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 it can shift faster than the Porsche PDK so it would be interesting to see how Blue Oval might implement the technology if it were in the Ford Mustang GT350 and GT500.
