2018 Ford F-150: Fuel Economy To Beat
While we don’t know the official EPA rating just yet it is though that thanks to the 2018 Ford F-150 offering both a diesel engine and the new ten speed transmission, it is going to offer up the best fuel economy in the light duty truck class.
The 2018 Ford F-150 has been treated to a bit of a style update and a new engine by way of the PowerStroke 3 litre V6 diesel engine. Ford has yet to reveal the figures for the amount of horses, fuel consumption and torque. Before this only the F-350 Super Duty and F-250 offered up the diesel engines.
The 3 litre PowerStroke means that the 2018 Ford F-150 is now able to go up against the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel, which offers 240 horses, 420 torque and 19mpg in the city and 27mpg on the highway. It will also compete against the Colorado and the Canyon.
The 2018 Ford F-150 is also going to offer the base gas engine which is the 3.3 litre V6 naturally aspirated offering 282 horses and 253 torque. There is the new 2.7 litre EcoBoost twin turbocharged V6 and the 5 litre V8 naturally aspirated. The EcoBoost engines come with the 10 speed automatic transmission and all versions come fitted with automatic stop and start technology.
The 2018 Ford F-150 offers up improved tail and nose styling, wheels and it comes with the Pre-Collision Assist along with Pedestrian Detection and adaptive cruise control complete with stop and go traffic capabilities.
