2018 Ford EcoSport: A Pointless Model?

By  |

Ford has revealed a few more details about the new 2018 Ford EcoSport but despite everything that Ford has to offer, it looks like the consumers are just not buying it.

The Ford EcoSport will be coming in as the new subcompact crossover from Ford. The vehicle will come in to compete with models like the Kia Soul, Mazda CX-3, and Honda HR-V.

Under the hood is a 1.0 liter turbocharged three cylinder engine that will be mated to a six-speed auto transmission and will be offering about 123hp and 125lb ft of torque. There is also a 2.0 liter naturally aspirated inline four cylinder engine that will be offering about 167hp and 149lb ft of torque.

Although it does not sound like a bad model at all, some consumers think that the only thing the Ford EcoSport has is that it is higher than the average model but that is it.

The Ford EcoSport will retail for $20,990. Do you think there is a place for it in the market?

It would have a place in my driveway – if it had a manual transmission for the U.S. model.
