2018 Chevrolet Cruze Thanks VW For Scandal

GM is going to make the most of the Volkswagen scandal in North America with the 2018 Chevrolet Cruze as it is arriving in diesel format.

The president of GM spoke out and said that people still love diesel cars that offer performance and that is why they are launching the 2018 Chevrolet Cruze in diesel. It was said that the second generation Cruze would be coming in the form of a sedan first and the hatchback would follow on in 2018.

The diesel version of the Chevrolet Cruze is going to be launched in most models and this includes all of the trims of the Cruze hatchback.

It was said that both of the vehicles would offer up the 6 speed manual along with 9 speed automatic. Along with confirmation of the 2018 Chevrolet Cruze GM also gave confirmation that the Cruze is going to displace 1.6 litres but nothing specific has been said about it.

So it is looking as though the 2018 Chevrolet Cruze has to thank Volkswagen for the diesel scandal as VW isn’t offering diesel vehicles in the US for now and this means that GM don’t have to compete.
