2018 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2: Turbo Diesel Makes Tacoma TRD Sweat

By  |

The 2018 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 is just about official and certification of the V6 3.6 litre gas engine has begun. Prototypes of the vehicle have been seen in the wild in testing and it is making the Tacoma TRD sweat it out.

The V6 3.6 litre gas engine comes with the 8 speed automatic engine and it should be more than enough for most people. But if you do want a bigger driving range along with more torque then you might want to consider the 2.8 litre turbo-diesel I4 Duramax.

The Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 price tag hasn’t been revealed just yet but the Colorado Z71 comes in with a price tag of $36,000 and this has the V6 engine. While the 2.8 litre Duramax Z71 starts at $40,000. The turbo-diesel version should come in more than the gas engine.

The Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 is going to compete with the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro and the TRD Pro comes in at about $45,000. The ZR2 should be around the same if it wants to be able to compete.

So it does looks as though the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 is going to be able to give the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro a good run for its money. But which of the two would you hand money over for?
