BMW has just taken the covers off their new BMW X2 and while they are calling it their latest Crossover, some consumers seem to think that this might be BMW’s way of getting the US market to get onboard the hatchback train.
We all know that hatchback has never really been popular here in the US and although the BMW X2 is not, it certainly has some similarities. On the outside, the BMW X2 will come with a design that is similar to what we have seen on the other BMW X models. However, unlike the other models, the proportions and lower ride height do help give it a hatchback like an appearance.
The BMW X2 will be powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged inline four engine that will be delivering about 228hp and 228lb ft of torque. The engine will be mated to an eight-speed auto transmission. According to BMW, the vehicle will only need 6.3 seconds to go from 0-60mph and has a top speed of 130mph.
The vehicle will be arriving in the Spring of 2018.
