There are very few vehicles that would be able to steal the show away from the Bentley Bentayga but the 2018 Audi Q8 happens to be one of them as it has done just that.
Fans of Audi have found it interesting to watch the concept of the Audi Q8 evolve over time. It was shown off some months ago at the Detroit Auto Show and the vehicle is a powerhouse packed with technology and luxury. It comes with a hybrid powertrain to ensure it is powerful but efficient and it looks the part as it features a huge grille. Now Audi have updated the concept and made some changes to the looks of the vehicle and its drivetrain and we for one are keeping our fingers crossed that this makes it over to the final production version.
The Audi Q8 offers room for three passengers and the driver, with plenty of space and 22 cubic feet of cargo space. In the back there is the rear seat ecosystem that seems to give each seat its own geometric body. Controls are on a black panel along with the display surfaces with a glossy strip that can be turned off to give it the look of another styling element.
The engine is the 3 litre TFSI twin-turbocharged with an electric compressor and a hybrid drivetrain. This sends power to all four wheels via eight speed automatic transmission. The Audi Q8 offers up 476 horses along with 516 torque and this means it takes the vehicle to 62mph in only 4.7 seconds, with a top speed of 170.9mph and offering mileage of 33.13mpg.
It offers up strong off-road technology via a ground clearance adjustment system that alters clearance by3.5 inches with five settings and which allows adaptive air suspension to find the perfect mode for doing the best job.
While this is just a concept at the moment but Audi does seem to be intent on making the vehicle and due to them having made huge leaps in technology it is plausible that the Audi Q8 will arrive on the market with most of the technology from the concept intact.
