2017 Toyota Tacoma vs Nissan Frontier: Newer Doesn’t Mean Better

By  |

Generally newer typically means better but when it comes to the 2017 Toyota Tacoma and the Nissan Frontier this isn’t so. But would you go for the Tacoma or would it be the Frontier?

The Toyota Tacoma offers the four cylinder engine as the base but there is the 3.5 litre V6 and this offers up 278 horsepower with six-speed transmission and choice of automatic or manual being on offer. The Nissan Frontier is available with a choice of two engines, the base four cylinder and the V6. The four-cylinder is the 4 litre offering 261 horses and 281 torque. Both of the trucks offer up around 18 miles a gallon and they offer around the same for fuel economy

In a recent poll the 2017 Toyota Tacoma did come out ahead of the Nissan Frontier, but then there are many people who say that the Frontier is more capable. While the interior might look older than that of the Tacoma, it can stand out depending on the specs you choose and additions. The transmission on the Frontier is great and the engine is powerful and smooth.

The Toyota Tacoma may get the vote for quality as this is a tough truck and it does have an engine that sounds great and it is of course the newer of the two. Sometimes newer is not always the best but then you are going to have to make up your own mind whether you would choose the Tacoma or the Nissan Frontier.
