By  |

The previous version of the Toyota Tacoma TRD came with a price tag of $36, 635 but the top of the range 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD has a price tag of $40, 760 if you want the manual double cab version. While this is a big hike in the price, it may be worth it as there are many improvements.

The older version has the V6 4 litre engine offering 236 horses, but the newer comes with the V6 3.5 litre and this offers up 278 horses. It has the 6 speed manual or automatic gearing and we are expecting the fuel economy ratings to have been improved.

There have been improvements to the exterior of the vehicle and this means that it is able to compete up against the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2.

The tires have been made stronger with Kevlar and these are now wrapped around 16 inch TRD wheels. The Toyota Tacoma TRD offers a cool looking hood scoop along with projector beam headlamps and aluminum skid plate, along with other things.

It also comes with stainless steel exhaust, Fox shocks, oil cooler, 130A alternator, power steering cooler and 4WD transfer case. The cabin has been treated to a 4.2 inch infotainment display and it is packed out with lots of TRD accessories.
