2017 Tesla Model S Isn’t Going To Compete With Nissan Leaf Nor Chevy Volt

The 2017 Tesla Model S isn’t in competition with the Chevy Volt nor the Nissan Leaf as instead it wants to tackle the likes of vehicles from Audi, BMW and Mercedes instead.

It was only a few years ago when many people laughed at the thought of Tesla being able to come up with a big luxury EV. Tesla have been the ones to have the last laugh though as they have managed to do exactly that.

Recently Bloomberg said that the Tesla Model S is a best-selling vehicle when it comes to luxury sedans over in the US. During the third quarter the sales of the vehicle increased by 59% as they sold 9, 156 units.

The sales of the 2017 Tesla Model S have gone on to beat sales of vehicles such as the BMW 7 Series, Mercedes Benz S-Class and the Audi A8.

Tesla has now said that they are now behind one third of sales of luxury cars among the large segment. Another vehicle from Tesla that has been doing well is the Tesla Model X crossover, which has sold 5, 428 units.
