The 2017 Tesla Model S isn’t competing with the Nissan Leaf or the Chevy Volt any longer as it wants to go more upmarket and instead go up against the Audi, BMW and Mercedes vehicles instead.

Only a few years ago some people would have laughed out loud at the thought that Tesla would offer up a huge luxury sedan, but Tesla have proven them all wrong as they have.

Recently it was said that the Tesla Model S is the best-selling vehicle among the luxury sedans in the US. During the third quarter sales it was said that the sales increased by 59% and a total of 9, 156 units have been sold.

The 2017 Tesla Model S has now managed to beat vehicles that include the BMW 7 Series, Mercedes Benz S-Class and Audi A8.

One third of all the luxury cars happen to come from Tesla in the large segment. The Tesla Model S isn’t the only vehicle that has been doing well as Tesla also said that 5, 428 Model X crossover vehicles had been sold.
