2017 Tesla Model S Isn’t A Rival To Nissan Leaf And Chevy Volt

By  |

The 2017 Tesla Model S isn’t going up against the Chevrolet Volt and the Nissan Leaf any longer as it wants to move more upmarket and take on Audi, Mercedes and BMW vehicles.

It was only a few years back when people would laugh at the thought of Tesla being able to offer up a luxury vehicle; however Tesla has gone on to have the last laugh as they have and they have been successful.

Recently Bloomberg reported that the Tesla Model S is the best-selling vehicle in the luxury sedan class in the US.

The Tesla Model S sales have increased by 59% in comparison to the same period the year before as they have sold 9, 156 units of the vehicle. They have beaten sales of vehicles such as the Mercedes Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series and the Audi 8.

It has been said that now Tesla is behind one third of all sales in the large luxury segment and it’s not just the Tesla Model S that is doing well as Tesla has also sold 5, 428 Model X crossovers.

Tesla never did go against the Nissan Leaf or Chevy Volt, there’s no such thing as a 2017 Model S, and the one you have pictured came out in 2014 as a 2014 and is no longer made.
