2017 Tesla Model 3 Is Making The Suppliers Sweat

By  |

Tesla is going to have to prove something as they have had reliability and time issues with the Model X and Model S. So with the 2017 Tesla Model 3 they do need to prove their worth. When you compare it to the bigger brothers, the compact sedan is easier to produce, however the demand for it has been overwhelming and this puts Tesla in a predicament.

Now a Japanese news source has said that the die-maker for the body panels of the Tesla Model 3 is a demanding customer.

The Tesla Model 3 is made mostly from steel but there are some parts made from aluminum too. Now suppliers are sweating due to the fact of the difficulty in making the dies for shaping the material.

The process of aluminum shaping is delicate and this is a specialty of the engineers of the Fuji Technica. They know the best cost effective way to create the soft curves that the Tesla Model 3 is well known for.

Despite it being a high volume project the supplier in Japan is thankful for Tesla, due to the US car maker being able to help to reverse the ill fortunes which have meant deep losses over the last several years.
