By  |

The 2017 Ram 2500 is taking on the Ford F-150 Raptor but there is no sign of the Chevrolet Silverado competitor. So is there going to be some competition from Chevrolet with a performance vehicle that will be able to take on the Raptor, or is it all down to the Ram?

The 2017 Ram 2500 aka Ram Power Wagon, was launched at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show to go up against the Ford F-150 Raptor. The Raptor comes in with a price tag of $49, 520 and the Ram is going on sale later on this year for $51, 695. The Ram offers up plenty of off the road features and it comes with a design that is unique.

The 2017 Ram 2500 Power Wagon is packed with features for going off the road such as 12,000 Warn winch, five link rear coil spring suspension, electronic locking front and rear differentials and under-chassis armor.

The engine powering the 2017 Ram 2500 is the 6.4 litre HEMI V8 and this offers up 410 horses along with 429 torque and it comes with tow hooks. It has 14.3 inch ground clearance, wheel travel of 26 inches and 30 inches water fording. There are very few environments that the Ram will struggle with.

So the 2017 Ram 2500 has what it takes to tackle the Ford F-150 Raptor but is the Chevrolet Silverado going to make an appearance to tackle both of them?
